There is less than one month to the election and it appears there will not be another debate between the presidential candidates. However, I want to do something that the moderators Linsey Davis and David Schwimmer aka David Muir didn’t do in September. I wish to provide a comprehensive list of fact-checks on Kamala Harris’ debate. David Muir was too busy singing “I’ll be there for you” to Kamala Harris but in this column we will be there for Donald Trump.
Kamala Harris’ Debate: Fact Check Bloodbath Lie
Lie #1: “Donald Trump the candidate has said in this election that there will be a bloodbath, if this—and the outcome of this election is not to his liking”
Truth: In Kamala Harris’ debate she deliberately took Donald Trump’s quote out of context to frame it as him calling for mutiny and destruction if the election results do not go his way. What he was talking about was an economic blood bath and here is the actual quote
“China now is building a couple of massive plants where they’re going to build the cars in Mexico and think, they think, that they’re going to sell those cars into the United States with no tax at the border. Let me tell you something to China, if you’re listening President Xi, and you and I are friends, but he understands the way I deal.
Those big monster car manufacturing plants that you’re building in Mexico right now, and you think you’re going to get that, you’re going to not hire Americans, and you’re going to sell the cars to us? No. We’re going to put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line, and you’re not going to be able to sell those cars. If I get elected. Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath, for the whole — that’s going to be the least of it. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country. That’ll be the least of it. But they’re not going to sell those cars”
As is obvious, this was regarding an economic bloodbath and was in no way an incitement to violence. The only part that Donald Trump got wrong on that quote is not that it will be a bloodbath, but that it has already been a bloodbath. The average person is getting destroyed under the Biden/Harris economy with higher prices and slower wage growth. The job market puts out decent numbers, but no one can get a decent job. The average time for an employee to land a job in their field is triple the time it took four years ago.
These jobs that are on paper pumping the economy must be at McDonald’s, Starbucks, or Walmart since every professional I have spoken to says they are getting fewer interviews than at any point in their professional history. Schwimmer had the perfect opportunity to fact-check Harris as he so often did with President Trump, but he was too busy drinking coffee at the Central Perk.
Fact Check Economic Lie
Lie #2: “What Goldman Sachs has said is that Donald Trump’s plan would make the economy worse. Mine would strengthen the economy. What the Wharton School has said is that Donald Trump’s plan would actually explode the deficit. Sixteen Nobel laureates have described his economic plan as something that would increase inflation and by the middle of next year would invite a recession.”
Truth: I’m sure the genius moderators would not have the knowledge to push back on this. They only have that knowledge when Donald Trump is making a claim. Goldman Sachs’ actual claim was that both candidate’s plans would grow the economy but Trump’s might be a bit slower in the first year though that would abate in 2026.
Meanwhile, a Harris victory would at best give a very slight boost to the GDP. They concluded that the difference in economic impact between the two candidates isn’t significant.
I don’t necessarily agree with that conclusion but I’m not going to start arguing economics with Goldamn Sachs in this article. The main takeaway is that she misrepresented Goldman Sachs’ position and received no pushback from the moderators.
Further, her lies about what the Wharton School said are the complete opposite of what they actually said. Penn Wharton’s budget model showed that Harris’ plan would reduce the nation’s gross domestic product and workers’ wages more than Trump’s. They did not claim that her plan would strengthen the economy while his would weaken it. This is a clear attempt by Kamala Harris in the debate to back up her socialist agenda by claiming esteemed institutes endorse her positions.
Fact Check : January 6th
Lie #3: “I was at the Capitol on January 6th. I was the Vice President-Elect. I was also an acting senator. I was there. And on that day, the president of the United States incited a violent mob to attack our nation’s Capitol, to desecrate our nation’s Capitol. On that day, 140 law enforcement officers were injured. And some died.”
Truth: This is a complete lie, no law enforcement died on January 6th. Democrats have made January 6th into 9/11. Some say it was worse than 9/11, a day when nearly three thousand Americans died. Can any rational person claim a day when zero law enforcement died is worse than a day when thousands of police and firefighters (as well as civilians) died? Of course not, but liberals are desperate to make this the crime of the century.
I do not support the January 6th events but it has been so blown out of proportion by now that we must push back against it. One capitol police officer died the next day of a stroke, which medical examiners determined was of of natural causes. In the months that followed, four suicides occurred among capitol police officers. Again, these are not deaths in the line of duty, as Kamala Harris in the debate so clearly stated. She did not say eventually, some died, or some died of related causes, but she said, “On that day….some died.”
No, there is clear and convincing evidence that no law enforcement died in the line of duty.
As Mark Twain said, though, “Never let the truth get in the way of a good story,” and this is the story that the Democrats have clung to for the past four years. They cannot run on their policies so they must cling to the January 6th debacle as their sole hope for keeping their electoral prospects alive. Suddenly Kamala Harris is concerned with the lives of law enforcement.
Is that why she pushed people to donate to the Bail Project so that violent BLM protestors who injured cops and destroyed businesses could be bailed out? So that sexual abusers and pedophiles could be bailed out? In Harris’ world, it’s okay to destroy if your group is causing the destruction.
Fact Check: Charlottesville
Lie #4: “Let’s remember Charlottesville, where there was a mob of people carrying tiki torches, spewing antisemitic hate, and what did the president then at the time say? There were fine people on each side.”
Truth: Even the liberal site Snopes declared this to be a lie. Similar to January 6th this quote has been so exaggerated to the point of ad nauseum. Anyone who actually watched Trump’s speech on the Charlottesville march knew he was not talking about Neo-Nazis and White Supremacists being fine people. Biden even claims that this quote got him out of the old age home and inspired him to run for president in 2016. Democrats want to talk like they have cornered the market on the truth but they will push lies incessantly if it furthers their own agenda.
We have the Russia collusion hoax, the above quote that has been debunked many times, and Hunter Biden’s laptop, to name a few instances. What Trump was referring to, for those who may not know, was that fine people were protesting to remove Confederate statues, and fine people were protesting against the removal of Confederate statues. In the very same sentence if anyone bothered to ever quote the whole sentence, he said that he wasn’t talking about Neo-Nazis or White Nationalists. This part always gets conveniently left out by the Democrats and media that is in the bag for them.
If moderator Muir and Davis wouldn’t fact-check any of Kamala Harris’ other lies during the debate they certainly would not touch this one. Like January 6th, we have heard this lie regurgitated so many times even a Dementia patient (like Biden) has this stuck in their head. See the actual statement below.
Excuse me, they didn’t put themselves down as neo-Nazis, and you had some very bad people in that group. But you also had people that were very fine people on both sides. You had people in that group – excuse me, excuse me. I saw the same pictures as you did. You had people in that group that were there to protest the taking down, of to them, a very, very important statue and the renaming of a park from Robert E. Lee to another name.
Keep in mind Biden made a similar statement saying that there were good people on both sides regarding the Israel/Anti-Semitic protests that rocked Columbia. So to Biden there were good people that wave Hamas banners in the streets of NYC, good people that shout long live October 7th, good people saying they love Osama Bin Laden, good people who want to globalize the intifada, you see where I’m going with this.
However, most people know Biden didn’t mean those people he meant maybe the few in those protests that were legitimately worried about Palestinian living conditions just like Donald Trump meant those that just wanted to keep Confederate statues up and weren’t necessarily Neo-Nazis. Except the media was dead silent on Biden’s faux pas and we’re still hearing about Trump’s seven years later. This is exactly the reason why Schwimmer and co will never fact-check Harris.
The above are just a few of the examples of the three-on-one that occurred during the Trump vs Harris debate. While the moderators incessantly fact-checked Trump with even the slightest half truth they refused to shine the light on Kamala Harris’ debate lies. The mass media and major broadcasting networks have put their (fat) fingers on the scales of the election. While the election may or may not be rigged in the way that Trump claims, it is certainly rigged by broadcast media, big tech, and the deep state to ensure their preferred candidate emerges victorious.
