The debate around sex and gender blew up at the Olympics this week. This occurred during the boxing match between, Imane Khelif of Algeria and Angela Carini of Italy reigniting the debate on men in women’s sports.

Imane Khelif vs Angela Carini

This came to a head 46 seconds into Khelif’s bout when she pounded the face of her Italian opponent and had her in tears. Angela Carini shouted moments after the fight “This is unjust” and refused to shake the Algerian’s hand. Carini said she never felt a punch as hard as she had in this bout.

In the initial rush to judgment, many people falsely speculated that Ms. Khelif was transgendered. They believed that this was another case of allowing transgenders who were born as biological males to participate in woman’s sports. However, it now appears that she claims to have been a female her whole life. I am not a doctor and will not speculate on what someone may or may not be. However, it does bring to the forefront of allowing transgender persons to participate in women’s sports.

True male-to-female transgenders, have an innate biological advantage over natural-born woman. No matter what woke society would like us to believe you can not change your DNA.

Why should the wants of the few overcome the rights of the many?

The way the liberal lobby would like us to cater to these transgendered athletes at the expense of actual women you must think they represent a substantial portion of the population. However, current estimates show they are no more than 0.5% to 1.6% of the US population. And the statistics are probably lower for people who have fully transitioned.

Why should the wants of the few overcome the rights of the many? In life you have to decide what is most important to you. Some sacrifices may come along with such a major decision as deciding to change your gender.

Many in this group want to have their cake and eat it too. But growing up involves sacrifices and most adults understand that.

I have nothing against anyone who wishes to transition. I’d wish them all the best but they must also understand there may be certain activities they can no longer participate in or would have to participate in with the sex they had at birth.

Luckily there still are some politicians and people with common sense.

Recently, Nassau County executive Bruce Blakeman on Long Island, New York approved a ban on transgender athletes. Biological men will not compete in women’s sports in Nassau County. None other than Caitlyn Jenner endorsed this ban on transgender athletes in women’s sports. Of course, Caitlyn Jenner understands what it takes to compete at the highest level and the biological differences between the sexes.

It’s one thing for Lia Thomas to compete in women’s swimming when she/he is so clearly structured differently. It’s still certainly not fair to the biological woman competing but fortunately, no one stands the risk of being injured.

But in a boxing match or MMA fight as we witnessed with Fallon Fox, the former Navy officer and truck driver, the results can be a disastrous turn. My fear is this, if we allow this to continue, one day the impact may be more than just a bad beat down.

The blatant hypocrisy is that the left is always quick to blast the right on women’s rights. Now they are the ones that truly want to put women in danger and take away the years of hard work that women put into their chosen physical craft.

Riley Gaines and Lia Thomas

Sports are a great builder of self-confidence, pride, and teamwork for young women. However, when they cannot compete on an even playing field it negates all of those positives. If women have to compete against naturally biological men it will end in disgrace. Schools ostracize and threaten into submission those who dare to speak out. One such example is Riley Gaines a competitive swimmer for the University of Kentucky.

Gaines had tied for fifth place with the transgendered Lia Thomas but was told that Thomas will get the trophy. This is because college athletics officials preferred Thomas to be seen with the trophy. These higher institutions of America have become a haven to cater to the most fringe members of society. Sometimes it’s Hamas and terrorist-loving lunatics or a man that insists on competing on a woman’s swim team.

We can speculate the majority of swimmers at these meets were uncomfortable undressing with a “woman” in their locker room. As Ms. Thomas did not undergo surgery at that point she had the biological parts of a man. We did not champion women’s rights for the past hundred-plus years only to see us throw it all away by allowing biological men to compete in women’s sports.

Unless we get back to common sense where we stop putting the wants of the 0.5% over the needs of the 50% we will continue to have similar stories.
